Weekly Update

What an exciting week this will be! The kids looked great in their PJ’s, the whole week will be filled with great ways to remind ourselves of how we can do our best next week.

In language arts this week we will be reading for information to determine author’s purpose and find the main idea as well.  In our small groups we are determining the central message of our chapter books.  We are looking at two author’s point of views analyzing them to determine what they agree on as well as how their opinions differ.

In science we are exploring the food pyramid, the benefits of healthy food as well as exercise.

On Thursday we will spend time exploring the tools that are associated with the PSSA and talk about test taking strategies.

Lastly to give the students a break from the structure of testing next week in the afternoons we are going to be working with mystery stem bags.  Each day the kids will have a different set of materials to work with and a different challenge to tackle. I am hoping to get your help with some of those supplies. I am putting a list of what we will need and if you can send anything in that’s awesome. I’ll be sure to label and send anything home that we don’t use.

Thanks in advance for anything you can send in.
